Three recognised presentations

Different types of ADHD

Predominantly Inattentive

Mainly involves focus, organisation, and follow-through difficulties , historically called ADD. It's often missed because it's quieter.

Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive

Mostly involves restlessness, fidgeting, and impulsivity, with fewer attention complaints. It tends to be more visible from the outside.

Combined Presentation

Includes significant symptoms from both groups. It's the most common presentation overall.

It can change over time

Presentations can shift across the lifespan. A hyperactive child may become a quietly restless adult.

Rarely on its own

ADHD often co-occurs with anxiety, depression, autism, or learning differences. These can change how it looks day to day.

Get a proper assessment

A qualified clinician is the only reliable way to identify which presentation fits. Online tests are a starting point, not a diagnosis.

Wondering if this fits you?

A free online screening test can help you decide whether to seek a professional assessment. It is not a diagnosis.
